Update: This was a hoax. April 1st was just too far away. I try to be as honest as possible, and this was a rare occurrence which won’t happen again except on April 1st. The timing accidentally coincided with some well-publicized security vulnerabilities that turned out to be blown out of proportion.
Randy Charles Morin operates a fairly popular blog and services such as Rmail. I noticed some issues with his blog the other day that led me to believe he could be vulnerable to having it hijacked. I tested this theory and as you can see here it is quite vulnerable.
I was able to exploit a buffer overflow in his implementation of RSS in order to insert my own content. I also gained administrative privileges to his blog through another method I discovered. He really shouldn’t have made it so easy for me. I’m trying to be as vague as possible so as not to leave him open to more attacks from others, but I won’t be so generous.
And to those new visitors: Welcome. Take a look around.
This was done with Randy’s permission. He was actually the one who posted things on his site. I never did anything to his site.
As you may have noticed I have brought back the comics section. This is because I just received my Wacom Graphire4 drawing tablet which will enable me to create comics more easily and quickly. I even plan to bring back Slugshed, though it will take time to do it right and with better writing.
For now I will be creating random comics at my leisure and publishing them here. Feel free to use them in your site unedited and with a clickable link back to my site.
The TCNJ SGA elections are going on today and tomorrow. It is online at www.tcnj.edu/~vote and there isn’t much competition. So if you feel that some of the candidates aren’t qualified feel free to write in other people.
Digital Life is a great convention where you can check out the latest technology and games. I went last year and had a blast, and I’m planning on returning this year. Last year I was able to check out the Xbox 360 and their games, along with some cool booths from the likes of NewEgg and PC Magazine. This year looks to be even bigger according to what I have read and the list of exhibitors I have seen.
The event is from October 12-15 in New York City at the Javits Center in New York City. You can get a free ticket online now that is good for all four days. Just go to the ticketing page and enter the code “INSIDER”.
I’m specifically impressed with their marketing efforts, since I had already heard of the “INSIDER” code and used it. I just now found out that it’s all coming from a PayPerPost.com listing intended to promote DigitalLife (which I plan to collect on). Good thing I already know how great it is and planned to go. I will of course be blogging whatever I find out and posting plenty of pictures.
NOTE: this is a paid ad, but I would have been posting about it anyway if I didn’t see this offer. I only post about what interests me and what I have experience with.
Weird Al has a new music video for his new album. The video is already leaked online, so check it out and be sure to buy his new album. I’ve seen Al twice in concert, and can’t wait to see him again.
On tonight’s show I will be talking about Apple, Ask, Cool Tech, Business (Facebook,Youtube,Myspace, Zecco,Zune), TCNJ news, and the Wheel of Misfortune may make a return if I can find something good for it.
Tune in to 91.3FM at 9pm in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. Or visit www.radiofirefox.com and it will eventually be online.
Want to avoid the freshman 15? Want to live a longer life? Then stop standing in front of the elevators when you can follow the bright red EXIT signs to the nearest stairwell to walk the two floors to your next class. Therefore leaving the elevators free for those with carts and others who actually need it.
Note: This post was brought on by an overheard conversation where a few girls did not even know where the stairs were when they couldn’t use the elevator because I was making a delivery to the basement. It’s been almost two weeks already; you should at least know where the stairs are.
If you haven’t noticed, Radio Firefox is back and tonight I will be discussing some recent acquisitions, upcoming Digg changes, the recent Facebook controversy, and the Wheel of Misfortune makes it’s second appearance with a few companies that have had a PR black-eye. This is just a preliminary list and I will be covering more topics that I will decide on before the show.
Remember to tune in to 91.3 FM in the Trenton, NJ area today at 9pm.
I will eventually be getting the show online, but I already have a significant backlog. I’m just not very motivated to edit the shows after they air. Are you waiting for them? If so let me know.
How do you tell if someone is a college Freshman? They generally travel in large packs, at least in the beginning of the year. And they hang their IDs on their neck, having not yet learned how easy they are to lose.
Note: When I first thought of this post a few hours ago it sounded a lot funnier in my head. But after a short nap it no longer does. Oh well. Anyone read any interesting news? Have any funny stories?
